Implemented through our team of experts, the program will provide you with the resources, confidence and support to lower your risk for future cardiovascular issues. For more than 35 years, the Pritikin Program has been taught to over 100,000 people. The program is comprised of three components: nutrition, exercise, and mind-body health. Patients are taught optimal health is achieved through lifestyle change that incorporates the foods we eat, our daily physical activity, and how we handle stress. Why do I need Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation? Who qualifies for it?
Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation is a lot like physical therapy after heart surgery. It’s a medically supervised wellness program designed to improve your health and help lower your risk of issues in the future.
To qualify for cardiac rehab, you must have experienced one or more of the following events, and have not yet begun medically supervised cardiac rehab after your most recent event:
- Heart attack
- Chronic stable angina
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Coronary angioplasty or stenting procedure
- Heart or heart-lung transplant
- Heart valve repair or replacement
What happens during Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Your treatment plan will be tailored to your unique heart health needs. We will address all cardiovascular disease risk factors and provide you with the resources needed to take control of your health. Key focus areas include:
- ECG monitored fitness sessions including; cardiovascular conditioning, strength training and flexibility exercises.
